Hey guys this is my first post and as you can see from the title it's about recruitment.I'm not sure if I'm ment to post here or in another part of the forum if I'm in the wrong spot please feel free to delete as I've not worked out how to do it yet.Now before you guys point out that there is a search feature on here and similar questions have been asked I'm aware of that but I figured that since Connex no longer exists and the process may have changed a new thread is in order?I'm trying to become a Trainee Train Driver. I've already done the online psychometric tests and passed and got the email saying I'm on the merit list and recently I've gotten an email confirming that I've been invited to the December 19th Assessment Centre which I'm happy about but at the same time I'm nervous as hell as this is my dream job (as corny as that sounds).I was just wondering if people could give me some advice on what to expect on the day?How are the tests? What level of difficulty are they? What preparation is required? What psychometric practice tests should I take? (links would be appreciated)What kind of questions do they ask you and your references? How long does it take to find out after the assessment centre if you got a job offer?Any other information or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.Vlad. Interview was straight forward. It takes a couple of weeks to find out whether your successful. There are some more details posted in the employment section under 'connex trainee's'. Well I applied for the role back in 25/5/09 and have been on the merit list for some time.I had received the emails about the assessment centres but had pretty much given up hope of getting into one by the start of Jan but to my surprise 3 days ago I got confirmation of getting into the last centre on the 19th of Jan 'Ruskiboy'Hi everyone,Just a quick question the testing period – has there been one since mid-2009?
From what I understand, they were advertised bi-annually for a period of two weeks, and you could only apply and do the online tests when they advertised, but I'm not sure what’s happening now that Metro has taken over.TIA from a first time poster.
